Touro Law Welcomes Heather DePierro as Assistant Dean for Student Services

Touro Law Center Dean Elena B. Langan is pleased to welcome Heather DePierro as the Assistant Dean for Student Services. Heather brings fourteen years of higher education experience as well as extensive legal experience to the position.

“We look forward to having Heather join our team,” stated Dean Langan. “Her background and experience coupled with her enthusiasm for legal education make her uniquely qualified for this position that requires extensive knowledge of the academic program, student experience, and legal field. I know our students will benefit from her perspective and knowledge as she can relate to their experiences and provide sound guidance and advice.”

Most recently, Heather served as the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Community Standards at Hofstra University where she was responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the student conduct system. Prior, she was the Director of Student Services and Advising at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where she gained extensive experience working as a primary Administrative liaison for students and serving as a resource for information and guidance in both academic and person matters. Before working in higher education, Heather served as a Deputy County Attorney with the Office of the Nassau County Attorney. 

At Touro Law, DePierro will be responsible for student counseling and academic advising, overseeing more than 30 student organizations and coordinating services for students with disabilities, as well as administering exams among other roles. She will also be a member of the law school’s senior management team. 

DePierro stated, “I believe I will be able to make an important contribution to the Touro Law community and look forward to joining the team.”
