Biography
John Maher is Of Counsel to the international firm Russin, Vecchi, Berg & Bernstein LLP, where he specializes in international and domestic commercial business dispute resolution including litigation, trials and appeals, arbitration, work-outs and settlement planning and negotiation. He has also been active in encouraging corporate responsibility for the humane treatment of animals, in advocating for legislation improving the treatment and expanding the rights of animals, and in representing animal rights and humane organizations. He currently serves as corporate counsel for the Best Friends Animal Society, the non-profit that runs the nation's largest sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied at the Wharton School, and received his J.D. from New York Law School.
