Biography
Eric G. Waxman, III is a partner in the Bankruptcy, Workout and Restructuring Department of the Uniondale firm Westerman Ball Ederer Miller & Sharfstein, LLP. His practice focuses on representation of creditors, particularly property/casualty and health insurance companies and financial institutions, in all aspects of bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court workouts. He has wide-ranging experience in business reorganizations and also financial institution and insurer insolvency proceedings. He also advises clients concerning insolvency risks and transaction structuring including use and enforcement of rights under letters of credit. Prior to entering private practice, he served as Law Clerk for US Bankruptcy Judge John J. Galgay, and was an attorney for the US Department of Justice, Antitrust Division. He earned his joint J.D./M.B.A. degree from New York University and graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Economics. He is also a board member of the Special Friends Foundation, a charitable organization assisting children suffering with genetic disorders, and their families.
