Master of Laws (LL.M.) in U.S. Legal Studies

This program is for students who hold a professional law degree from an educational institution outside of the United States. The educational institution must be accredited and the degree must satisfy the academic requirements for entry into the legal profession in the country where the institution is situated.

Students admitted to the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in U.S. Legal Studies for foreign law graduates generally begin law school in the fall semester, after an orientation that starts in early August. Since they are not assigned to specific divisions, students may attend either full-time or part-time and select courses from the day and evening schedules. Tuition is charged by the semester-hour.

Students must successfully complete the requirements for and be awarded an LL.M. degree within 24 months of matriculation. 24 out of the 27 credits required for the LL.M. degree must be physically completed at the campus of Touro Law Center in the United States.

Requirements for application include:

All applicants for whom English is not their first language must submit official results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A score approaching 240 (computer-based scale) or 95 (internet-based scale) is desirable. Touro Law’s institution code is 2902.
