The GQI Community

  • Our community consists of many of New York’s leading judges, practitioners, court personnel, and other professionals concerned with legal issues that impact individuals with diminished mental capacity and their families.
  • ALLI has entered into an agreement with the New York State Office of Court Administration which ensures that all New York State guardianship judges and court attorneys dedicated to guardianships will have access to GQI programs and materials.
  • Rose Mary Bailly, the primary draftsperson of Article 81 of New York’s Mental Hygiene Law governing the appointment of guardians will not only participate in ALLI’s educational programs, she has also agreed to work with us as we consider amendments to Article 81.
  • Recognized expert practitioners Fern Finkel and Ira Salzman have helped facilitate the development of GQI and serve as Co-Chairs of the Advisory Committee – an evolving panel comprised of dedicated and experienced practitioners throughout New York State.
  • The Advisory Committee will meet via telephone/video conferencing on a periodic basis to discuss content development and revisions to Article 81.
  • We invite all guardianship attorneys to become active members of our community.
