Friends of the Library
Touro Law Center's Friends of the Library Program offers attorneys the opportunity to access the Gould Law Library's extensive legal collection. We are pleased to offer attorneys use of the Gould Law Library's spacious facility and print materials - more than 462,000 volumes and volume equivalents at no charge.* Attorneys must show ID authenticating their attorney status.
Attorneys who wish to access the library's online databases and Public Access Westlaw (on campus use only) - may join our Friends of the Library Program - for one year - for a fee of $50. Membership in the Friends of the Library Program includes:

to join or renew membership in the Friends of the Library Association
Upon joining the Friends of the Library Association, you will be issued a photo identification card. Your card may be obtained by scheduling an appointment with Carl Baurle, Building Coordinator, at 631.761.7180 or firstname.lastname@example.org

Upon entering the Law Center to use the Gould Law Library, members are required to show their Friends of the Library Association membership card to the security desk and to the reference librarians to access the library's online databases and public access Westlaw database.*** If an expired membership card is presented at the time of entry, you will be directed to the Office of Development, Alumni Relations and Communications for membership renewal.
*Circulation privileges are reserved for current students, faculty, and staff. Friends of the Library members are welcome to use the library collection in-house, and to make copies as needed.
**Gould Law Library does not offer Pubic Access to LexisNexis. The Suffolk County Supreme Court Library offers free use of LexisNexis to the public. They are located at 400 Carleton Avenue in Central Islip, directly across from Touro Law Center.
***Certified paralegals sponsored by their employer, in the course of their employment, may enter the library using their employer's Friend of the Library member ID card.
