On December 9, 2011 at the 23rd Annual Keys for the Homeless Conference, Jack Evans, Staff Attorney in the William Randolph Hearst Public Advocacy Center at Touro Law, was honored as the "Leonard I. Saltzman Unsung Hero Award" Recipient for all of his efforts in working with underrepresented populations within the local community. Congratulations Jack!

During the week of January 2, 2012 Touro Law students traveled to the Gulf Coast to provide legal assistance to residents in New Orelans, LA and Biloxi, MI. Both Gulf Coast regions have been devastated by hurricanes in recent years and most recently by the BP oil spill. Thanks to all who participated in the Backpack Pirate Challenge - collecting school supplies for Long Island's homeless children. The drive was a HUGE success thanks to everyone's generosity and support.
