of the following sentences.

there.
2. A semi-colon links the next two
sentences, indicating relationship.
Mr. Smith went to the courthouse; he met his attorney
there.
3. A colon now connects the two
sentences, adding intensity.
Mr. Smith went to the courthouse: he met his attorney
there.
