The J.D./M.P.A. creates rewarding opportunities in law firms, health care facilities, insurance companies, public interest organizations, and government agencies. Offered by the Health Care and Public Administration Department in the College of Management at Long Island University, the Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) in Health Care provides theoretical grounding and practical experience in the administration of health care. The program's unique strengths include mastery of organizational processes, management structures, and policy analysis.

Taken alone, the M.P.A. requires successful completion of 48 credits; as part of the dual degrees program, where 12 credits are transferred in each direction, the M.P.A. credit total is 36 (48-12) and the J.D. credit total is 76 (88-12), for a combined credit total of 112.
