Touro is a national leader in promoting lawyers' ethical and community responsibilities, through a curriculum that gives students the chance to sample the rewards of a career in public interest law. At Touro, students experience the personal satisfaction that comes from meeting the legal needs of individuals or groups that do not have easy access to justice. Because of Touro's deep dedication to its founding principles, the Law Center offers students financial assistance to encourage public interest legal work. Summer Public Interest Law Fellowships provide salaries for students who take typically unpaid summer jobs with public interest legal employers. As an added incentive, Touro's Loan Repayment Assistance Program provides financial assistance to graduates who elect to pursue careers in public interest law.
