International Summer Law Internship Program

The Law Center's International Summer Internship Program offers positions in law firms, courts, and government offices in London, England; Paris, France; Brussels, Belgium; Lisbon, Portugal; Cork, Ireland; and Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Israel. The jobs are unpaid, but offer extraordinary opportunities to work on both international and local matters under the supervision of experienced host country attorneys. In addition, the Law Center's summer programs in Russia and India offer students the opportunity to work in local English-speaking law firms after the end of the academic portion of the program.

International Summer Abroad Program

  • Moscow, Russia — Touro and Loyola University New Orleans with Moscow State University, sponsors a three-week program on the Russian legal system in transition.
  • Shimla, India — The only American law program on the Indian subcontinent, Touro offers students the opportunity to study in Shimla, colonial India's Himalayan summer capital, and in Dharamsala, the seat of the Tibetan government-in-exile and residence of the Dalai Lama. The five-week program explores India's religious and cultural pluralism and examines how the country's ancient society is being transformed by dramatic economic reforms and unprecedented foreign investment.
  • Xiamen, China — Touro's China program provides a variety of cultural and educational experiences in Hong Kong, Xiamen (the principal base, a port city in Fujian province), Xian, Beijing, and beyond. The focus of the five-week session is the historical, philosophical, and sociological underpinnings of the Chinese culture and society.
  • Potsdam/Berlin, Germany — Touro, in cooperation with the University of Potsdam, presents a four-week program on issues of justice and human rights, from the Holocaust to the present.
  • Jerusalem, Israel — Learn about modern Israel and its ancient roots while earning up to 6 credits. Touro's four-week program in Jerusalem highlights Israel’s political and religious significance as well as broader issues of international law through coursework and field trips. The program is held at the Mt. Scopus campus of the Hebrew University.
