ADMISSIONS & CREDITS
Admission is open to any law student in good academic standing at
his or her law school who has completed the first year of full-time or
part-time study.
Admission is also open to attorneys on a space-available basis to audit classes
or to take classes for continuing legal education credit.
To enhance our understanding of India and its legal system, four law students
from the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences in Kolkata will
also be active participants in all aspects of the program.
This summer program has been authorized by the Accreditation Committee of the
ABA Section of Legal Education. However, each applicant’s school still has the
discretion whether to accept the transfer of summer credits.
While most schools will accept summer credits, each applicant should determine
the policy of his or her school in advance. If any problems arise, please
contact Touro Law Center directly for assistance in helping to explain the
details of the summer program.
Applicants who are interested in using this summer credit to accelerate
graduation should check with their Registrar’s Office to determine whether this
summer program meets residency requirements. It is unlikely that the credits in
a foreign summer program can be used to accelerate graduation.
Law Center reserves
the right to modify or cancel the program for reasonable cause, including but
not limited to insufficient enrollment, severe political instability, or any
serious conditions that may threaten the safety of the students. If the program
is cancelled, any money paid by applicants to Touro will be fully refunded
except for room and board and transportation payments utilized prior to the
date of cancellation.
