ORIENTATION TO RUSSIA AND THE RUSSIAN LEGAL SYSTEM

Program participants will be introduced to the Russian legal system in transition through a series of lectures, receptions, and meetings with Russian judges, lawyers, and public officials, as well as tours of trial courts, appellate courts, and government buildings. Previous lecturers have included the Chief Judge of the Constitutional Court, Chairs of key legislative committees of Parliament, Chief Advisor on Law Reform to the President, and the U.S. Ambassador to Russia.

Participants will enjoy a bus tour of historical and cultural sites of Moscow and will visit the Kremlin and museums. The program may also include a day tour to an historic location outside of Moscow.
