Anthea des Etages
Charlotte School of Law
Touro Law Center's Office of Development, Alumni Relations and Communications is proud to announce that Anthea des Etages has been selected as the alum of the month for November 2011. Ms. des Etages is a leader in her profession, was an active member of the Touro Law community while attending law school, and speaks to current and prospective law students. Her accomplished career is highlighted in the bio below. On behalf of the entire law school community, we extend our congratulations to Anthea des Etages.
Anthea des Etages is the Assistant Dean for Academics at Charlotte School of Law. She joined Charlotte School of Law in January 2007 as its first Academic Success Counselor and served both as an adjunct professor teaching Negotiations for two years and as the first Director of the Charlotte Law Program for Academic Success before becoming the Assistant Dean for Academics, a position she has held since December 2010. She has led the development of a comprehensive academic success program which encourages students to continually improve their performance through targeted interventions which take into account their individual learning styles while teaching study and exam skills. In addition to her current role as Assistant Dean for Academics, in which she continues to oversee the Academic Success department while influencing academic policies and procedures, she is pursuing a doctorate in Higher Education Leadership and Policy at Vanderbilt University, Peabody College of Education and Human Development.
Dean des Etages graduated in 2001 from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center where she worked with Professor Doug Scherer as Student Director of the Legal Education Access Program, served as Editor-in-Chief of the Touro Law Review and received the Dean's Award for Outstanding Leadership and Overall Academic Excellence as well as Special Service Award upon graduation. She started her legal career as a corporate attorney, practicing in the area of banking and finance at two prominent New York law firms for five years before making her transition into legal education.
