The Annual Touro Law Center Alumni Association Winter Reception was held
on Thursday, January 29th during the New York State Bar Association’s Annual
Meeting at the New York Marriott Marquis. Over one hundred guests attended the
reception to network with their fellow classmates and Touro Law Center
Professors and Administrators. The Exceptional Law School Service Award was
presented to Joseph Rosenberg ’87 for his dedication and commitment to the law
center as Executive Vice President of the Alumni Association Executive Board,
capital campaign and golf committee member and for his contributions to the
community and to the legal profession in the area of trusts and estates. The
Public Service Award was presented to Christine Malafi '91 for her outstanding
contributions to the legal profession as Suffolk County Attorney and for all of
her help with Touro Law Center and the law center’s programs through the Alumni
Council and serving as a role model for our students. The Emerging Leader Award
was presented to Melanie Hendry '04 for her initatives during law school as editor
in chief of the Touro Law Review and after law school as recording secretary of
the Alumni Association Executive board and member of the Alumni Council. Please
