Touro Law Center's Friends of the Library Association provides attorneys with access to Touro's extensive legal collection while allowing the Law Center to cover a small part of the costs related to attorney use of the library.

Many attorneys have expressed their appreciation to Touro for providing the legal community with such a fine library. Currently the collection has more than 400,000 volumes and volume equivalents, appellate records and briefs, as well as special features such as an extensive collection of government documents, Scholar's and Judaica Collections, and LEXIS Law Publishing CDs including New York Law on a Disk, United States Code Service, and the New York Code Rules and Regulations.

The rate for individuals to join the Friends of the Library is $150. If you are a member of the Nassau or Suffolk Bar Associations you may become a member of the Friends of the Library at the special rate of $75. There is also a special discount rate of $25 for government and public interest attorneys.

A number of firms have elected to participate in our successful corporate program at the rate of $350. Certified Paralegals may also be sponsored for membership in the Association by their employers who are members.

Attorneys interested in becoming members of the Association should call the Development Office at (631) 761-7065 . A membership application will be sent to you, and we ask that you fill out and return it together with a check for the appropriate fee. A parking permit along with a Library Guide will be forwarded upon receipt of your completed application. On your first visit to the library a photo will be taken and an ID card will be forwarded to you shortly thereafter.

It is our hope that, through the Friends of the Library Association, Touro will be able to continue providing services to students, faculty and the local legal community.

Members of the Association will have access to the collection during normal operating hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM - 11:45 PM; Friday, 8 AM - 2:45 PM; and Sunday 9:00 AM to 11:45 PM when School is in session.
