Touro Law Center Welcomes Campus Rabbi Moshe LaBrie

Central Islip, N.Y. –Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center welcomes Rabbi Moshe LaBrie. Rabbi LaBrie joins the Touro Law Center community to enhance Jewish life for both Jewish and non-Jewish students and staff. He will serve as a mentor, provide community outreach, create new religious and cultural programming and help with recruitment efforts. Rabbi LaBrie also oversees the standards of the Kashruth of the cafeteria to be acceptable universally and has secured certification from the Vaad Harabonim of Queens.

“We are pleased to welcome Rabbi LaBrie to Touro Law Center,” said Lawrence Raful, Dean and Professor of Law. “His role is extremely important for our student body and his contributions will be of great value.”

Rabbie LaBrie will also interact with other Touro institutions, including Touro College School of Health and Sciences in Bay Shore, to strengthen programming and activities between the institutions and within the larger community.

Rabbi LaBrie holds a B.S. in Judaic Jurisprudence and a Masters of Education from Adelphi University. Rabbi Moshe LaBrie is director and founder of the Mesorah Center, which opened in 1995. In the past 12 years, the center has expanded to provide more than eighty different class/learning sessions throughout eastern Nassau and western Suffolk Counties. All classes are designed to introduce and expose Jews of all backgrounds to the relevancy and beauty of their heritage.

Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center has a new 185,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art law campus adjacent to and working with a state and a federal courthouse in Central Islip, New York. Touro’s new campus provides a one-of-a kind learning model for law students, combining a rigorous curriculum taught by expert faculty with a practical courtroom experience. Touro, which has a student body of approximately 750 and an alumni base of nearly 5,000, offers full- and part-time J.D. programs as well as graduate law programs.
