Touro Law Announces Director of Externship Programs
Central Islip, NY
– Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center is pleased to announce the appointment of
Professor Lewis Silverman as the Director of Externship Programs. In his new role,
Professor Silverman will be responsible for coordinating placements and supervising
the Business Technology Externship, Civil Practice Externship, Criminal Law Externship,
Judicial Externship, U.S. Attorney Externship and the independent externships.
Previously, externships were overseen by the Director of Clinical Programs. However,
with an expanding clinical program – adding two new clinics – and increasing requests
for externships by students, Dean Raful has administratively separated externships from
clinics.
"Professor Silverman has always been actively
involved in our clinical and externship programs,” said Dean Raful. “His leadership as Director of Externship Programs
will provide the necessary enthusiasm and energy to further expand the program and provide additional opportunities for
our students. I know he will do an outstanding job as the Director of Externship Programs and look forward to working
closely with him in the months ahead."
Professor Silverman is also the director of the Family
Law clinic at Touro Law Center and teaches in the area of Family Law.
