Donations Sought
for 8th Annual Goods and Services Auction
Proceeds Benefit Student
Fellowships That Help
Victims of Violence and Abuse
Huntington, NY –
Donations are needed for Touro Law School’s 8th
Annual Goods and Services Auction. Proceeds benefit summer
Public Interest Law Fellowships for Touro students who are
placed throughout the Metropolitan area, offering legal
assistance to some of the area’s neediest victims of violence
and abuse.
The popular event includes live and silent auctions, Pro Bono
Service Awards for area attorneys, desserts, cocktails and lots
of fun. Items up for grabs this year should include celebrity
lunches, backstage passes, tickets to sporting events and
concerts, fine art, wine, vacation and dinner packages and more.
Donors are publicized at the event through signs, announcements
and publication in an auction journal. Attendees include top
judges, lawyers, public officials and future Long Island
leaders.
Please contact Larry Drago at 631-421-2244 ext. 307 for
further details.
Touro Law School’s 8th Annual Goods and Services
Auction will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2005, starting with a
cocktail and dessert reception at 5:30 p.m. in the Auditorium.
Auction pledges are needed by January 31.
Touro Summer Public Interest Law Fellows defend the victims of
domestic abuse, protect the rights of refugees from violence
around the world, help charitable organizations and work with
advocacy groups. Last year’s event raised over $45,000 for this
program.
One of just a handful of law schools
nationwide with a pro-bono service requirement for its
graduates, Touro Law School welcomed a record-setting entering
class this year. Selectivity and test scores for the 24-year-old
Huntington institution are at all-time high. Touro is currently
undertaking a bold, multi-million-dollar strategic plan that
includes a cutting-edge new curriculum and a move to a new home
in Central Islip by fall 2006, adjacent to and working with
state and federal courts. This modern “law campus” will be the
first of its kind anywhere and a national model.

School’s full- and part-time academic programs, call (631)
