D.A. Rice Goes Back to School

Nassau
District Attorney Kathleen Rice went back to her former law
school, Touro Law Center in Huntington, NY, on Thursday,
February 2, as the guest speaker for Elected Officials Night.
She is a 1991 graduate and was introduced by her former
classmate and study partner Christine
Malafi, who is Suffolk County Attorney. Both Touro grads
are the first women to hold their prestigious posts. Numerous
Touro grads have gone on to government service, including as
Assemblymen, State Senators, County Legislators and State
Supreme Court Judges. Ms. Rice is pictured with current Touro
Law students. She credits her Touro education with fostering a
spirit of public service and looking out for society’s most
vulnerable as she staked out her career. As a former federal
prosecutor, she won convictions in over 40 murder cases. In
November, she defeated an eight-term incumbent in winning her
post.
