Touro Conference Looks at Segregation
and Racism on Long
Island
Timely Discussion Brings Together Civil-Rights Attorneys and
Advocates
Huntington, NY – Touro Law Center and its Journal of Race,
Gender, and Ethnicity will hold an important and timely seminar,
“Racial Segregation on Long Island,” a panel discussion
examining the prevalence of racial segregation locally and its
impact on housing and education.
The event will be moderated by Dean Emeritus and renowned
civil-rights attorney Howard Glickstein, who worked with
presidential administrations in the 1960s and 1970s in helping
shape policy prohibiting racism and segregation. He will be
joined by Nassau County Legislator Roger Corbin, Cathryn Harris
of ERASE Racism, Maurice Mitchell of the Long Island Progressive
Coalition, and Ann Sullivan and Diane Goins of ACORN’s New York
chapter.
The event takes place in the Auditorium starting at 4:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, March 29, and is free and open to the public. Light
