Touro Law
Center Unveils New Logo
for Move to New Campus
Central Islip, N.Y. – With a campus move to Central Islip for
this fall in the works, Touro Law Center and Dean Lawrence Raful
are introducing the school’s new logo.

The new logo is part of a larger marketing plan implemented over
the past year to transition the law school from its Huntington
location to a new facility adjacent to state and federal courts.
“I am pleased and very proud to announce our new law school logo
and signature. With our move to Central Islip, we knew we had to
change our logo, but also wanted to capture the excitement that
is growing as we prepare to move into this wonderful building –
the first law school in the United States to share a campus with
a federal courthouse and a state courthouse,” Dean Raful said.
“We are very proud that we have a new, modern, sleek logo that
says ‘New York’ by featuring the most recognizable monument in
America, but we also are thrilled to offer a logo that
personifies ‘liberty’ and ‘justice,’ two of the most important
values we hope to instill in our students.
The new logo was designed by Ellen Fleury of Fleury Design in
Huntington (fleurydesign.com), working together with Touro Law
Center’s Director of Communications, Darren Johnson.
Touro’s Director of Information Technology Peter Stanisci and
Prof. Jonathan Ezor, Director of Touro’s innovative Institute of
Business, Law and Technology, helped with the technical and
legal aspects of the trademark search. The electronic trademark
search was done by Corsearch, a Wolters Kluwer business. Touro
alum Lee GrossKreuz Hechtel of Jaspan Schlesinger Hoffman LLP
provided the legal trademark analysis and filing.
Touro Law Center
is currently undertaking a bold strategic plan that includes a
cutting-edge new curriculum and a move to its new home in
Central Islip in fall 2006. The new campus will stress hands-on
legal education, expanding learning from the classroom and
textbooks into real courtrooms. The total cost of the project is
expected to be approximately $35 million. This modern,
180,000-square-foot law campus will be the first of its kind
anywhere and a national model.
Touro Law Center,
with a student body of over 750, welcomed record-setting
entering classes over the past two years. Selectivity and test
scores for the 26-year-old institution are at all-time highs,
surpassing national and regional trends for law schools.
