– In collaboration with Islip Town Councilwoman Pamela J.
Greene, Touro Law Center in Central Islip will be hosting a
“Welcome to the Community Expo” on Wednesday, March 14, between
the hours of 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The
event will introduce the new, state-of-the-art law campus to the
neighborhood.
Groups that have already scheduled to be at the Community Expo
include: Town of Islip Animal Shelter, First United Methodist
Church, United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Suffolk,
Inc., Tennessee Jack’s BBQ, Brightside Civic Association, Inc.,
Main Street Alliance, Inc., Heckscher Youth Program, New York
Institute of Technology, Youth Enrichment Services, EAC, Inc.,
North Great River Civic Association, Keep Islip Clean, Weichert
Realtors Dutch Door, U.S.A. Industries, South Shore Pools,
Teachers Federal Credit Union, Girl Scouts of Suffolk County,
Inc., Community Development Agency of Islip Town, Central Islip
Public Library, John V. Potter Real Estate, Central Islip
Coalition of Good Neighbors, the Long Island Ducks and others.
At the Community Expo, Touro’s faculty, staff and its
approximately 750 students will be introduced to some of the
goods, services and noteworthy sites that Central Islip and the
surrounding communities have to offer. Invited to the event are
restaurants, local businesses, not-for-profit agencies and
governmental organizations.
“As a representative of the Town of Islip, I am thrilled to be
able to assist Touro on this Community Expo to highlight the
positives that my hometown, Central Islip, and the surrounding
communities have to offer,” said Councilwoman Greene, an alumna
of Touro.
