Touro Law Center's Office of Alumni and Development is proud to announce that Seymour Liebman ’89 has been selected for the month of June. Mr. Leibman was an active member of the Touro community while attending law school and remains engaged through Touro Law Center’s Board of Governors, attending various alumni and student events throughout the years. His accomplished career is highlighted in the bio below. On behalf of the entire law school community, we extend our congratulations to Seymour Liebman.
Seymour Liebman is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer of Canon U.S.A., Inc. He joined Canon U.S.A., Inc. in 1974 as a manager in the company’s accounting division. He was promoted to vice president in 1987 and then to Senior Vice President, Finance and General Counsel in 1992 and was elected to his current title in 1996. Prior to joining Canon, he was an auditor for KPMG.
Mr. Liebman is currently on the board of directors of Zygo Corporation, on the Board of Governors of Touro Law Center, a board member for the Long Island Association and a board member on the Information Technology Industry Council. He is also a council member for the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts and has participated on Touro Law Center’s Dinner Committee for its annual “With Liberty and Justice For All Dinner.” He served as the dinner’s co-chair in 2007.
Mr. Liebman received a B.A. in Mathematics from Hofstra University, a Master’s Degree of Science in Mathematics from Rutgers University, a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Long Island University and a Juris Doctor from Touro Law Center. While at Touro Law Center, he was a member of the Touro Law Review Staff.
Mr. Liebman is a Certified Public Accountant and an attorney admitted in New York, New Jersey and Washington D.C. He has been married for 29 years, has four children and enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren.
