Two
Full-time faculty positions at Touro Law Center
Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center invites applications for two
full-time, tenure-track faculty positions, to commence in the Fall Semester
2010. The Law Center’s primary curricular needs are in the areas of Property
Law and Jewish Law. Other areas of interest include upper level property
offerings, Environmental Law, Business or Commercial Law, and International
Law.
Touro Law Center is committed to providing a quality legal education that
encourages students to examine the moral goals of the law while promoting
social justice and community service. Touro is located on Long Island adjacent
to federal and state courthouses. Our newly designed curriculum works to offer
students an education that bridges the gap between academic theory and legal
practice. The Law Center is particularly interested in candidates with creative
and effective ideas about how to do so in their own teaching and scholarship.
A J.D. or equivalent law degree is required. Successful applicants must have
strong academic backgrounds, significant professional experience and a strong
commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship or research and service.
The Faculty Appointments Committee will review FAR forms for applicants who are
registered in the 2009 AALS Faculty Appointments Register. Applicants not
registered in the AALS Faculty Appointments Register must forward a letter of
intent, resume and the names and contact information of three references to the
Chair of the Committee. Applications will be reviewed immediately and must be
received no later than December 7, 2009. Women, members of minority groups and
others whose background will contribute to the diversity of the faculty are
encouraged to apply.
