Touro is committed to producing graduates who are skilled practitioners and effective communicators. That commitment is evidenced by the professional support services of the Writing Resources Center. The Writing Resources Center offers ongoing assistance that includes:

Individual Tutorials: available by appointment or on a drop-in basis, with emphasis on professional level writing skills that include self-editing and revision, as well as word choice, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Pre-Publication Consultation: editing advice on manuscripts that are being prepared for publication.

Small-Group Workshops: students learn and apply techniques for effective writing.

On-Line Communications: students can e-mail questions concerning writing assignments or personal writing projects, as well as schedule appointments at any time.

The Writing Resources Center is headed by a specialist in writing instruction. In addition, there are Writing Skills Teaching Assistants—upper-level students who have demonstrated excellence in writing as well as in legal studies. There are limits to what the Writing Resources Center offers: no proof-reading or copy-editing; no correcting papers; no help with substantive issues in work to be graded. However, students will learn how to create and complete a well-honed work product in which they can take pride.
