If you have not already done so,
there are three matters that you must take care of before the
beginning of the Fall semester:
-
Official transcript(s) from
your degree-granting institution. The American Bar
Association requires law schools to have certified
documentation as to degree status “before an admitted student
registers, or within a reasonable time thereafter.” Note:
Official transcripts sent to the
Law School Admission Council (LSAC)
as part of the application process are not sufficient for your
permanent file.
-
Proof of immunization against
measles, mumps, and rubella. (See
Student
Immunization Record) New York State Public Health Law
§2165 requires post-secondary students to show that they have
received vaccinations against measles, mumps, and rubella
(separately) or for the M.M.R. (combined). Students unable to
provide proof of either must undergo and submit the results of
a titer test. Note: Persons born prior to
January 1, 1957 are exempt
from this requirement, but must provide proof of age.
-
Meningococcal Meningitis
Vaccination Response Form.
New York State Public Health Law §2167 requires post-secondary
students to be made aware of the existence of a vaccination
against meningococcal meningitis (also called meningococcal
disease). Note: You are not required to have the
vaccination, but you must acknowledge receipt of the
information concerning its availability.
