University Law School (BYU) has created a web based newsletter that
consists of job newsletters from law schools around the
country. Since Touro is participating in the intercollegiate jobbank, the website is available to our alumni. The

department, often referred to as the Office of the General
Counsel, which hires law students and recent graduates for

MANDATORY CLE: As you know, under New York’s
mandatory continuing legal education rules, new lawyers
must acquire 32 credits of transitional training during their
first two (2) years of practice. Most Bar Associations
offer CLE programs, to learn more about such program visit any
one of the listed bar association web sites. (For
more bar association listings, visit the "Links"
section in "CSO Resources" in the Alumni Corner.
NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL SERVICE
– To work as an attorney for New York State, candidates
must complete an employment application (Form OC-APP). Once
applicants are entered into the state computer system, he/she
will be automatically notified of job openings that match
his/her qualifications. Minimum Qualifications: As of the date
of filing applications, you must be a graduate of an
accredited law school with an LL.B. or JD degree and/or be
eligible to take the New York State Bar examination. This form
can be downloaded from the "state government" link
at "CSO resources" on the CSO web site or contact
CSO. Applications are accepted continuously for legal careers
in New York State government.

Recent law school graduates
can continue to access WESTLAW for a full
year following graduation. While online, visit Attorney
JobsOnline, where attorneys can post their resumes
online, access job postings in all areas of the law, as well
as access a wide variety of career related advice and
resources. If your Westlaw password is no longer valid,
you may access a limited section of the Attorney JobsOnline
Westlaw's career services from a CSO computer terminal at no
charge.
