Compliance with federal copyright
laws is an important consideration
when distributing photocopies,
making course packets, or posting
materials on an online course
management system, such as Lexis Web
Courses or Westlaw’s TWEN. The staff
of the law school’s Faculty Services
Center is responsible for requesting
most copyright permissions through
the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC).
Please contact a Faculty Services
Center staff member for assistance
with CCC forms:
In unusual copyright situations, the
staff of the Faculty Services Center
may consult reference librarians for
assistance with obtaining copyright
permission through CCC or directly
through publishers and authors. In
general, however, requests are
fielded initially by the Faculty
Services Center.

guidelines for academics, please

appropriate web sites, books, and
articles that explain the
intricacies of academic copyright
permissions and fair use.
