| In order to comply with ABA standards, and the residency requirements of the New York State Court of Appeals, the Fall and Spring semesters are usually fourteen (14) weeks in length with class periods of fifty (50) minutes each. When holiday observances restrict the availability of days of instruction, Fall and/or Spring semesters may be thirteen (13) weeks in length with class periods of fifty-five (55) minutes each. Summer sessions are seven weeks in length, with each class period being equivalent to one hundred (100) minutes each. Classes begin in May after Spring semester final examinations.
Class offerings for the
Fall semester are usually published in late March, with registration taking place in April. Course offerings for the
Spring semester are usually published in late October, with registration taking place in November.
Summer session registration packets with course offerings are usually published in March. Final examination schedules are published with each semester's course offerings.
A calendar detailing the building and library hours is usually published in May for the following academic year.
