Class rank is determined at the conclusion of the Fall and Spring semesters each year. Students are ranked by class and division and requests for class rank include a numerical rank and a percentile rank. The percentile rank is calculated by dividing the number of the student's class standing by the number of students in the appropriate class and division. (For example: 32 divided by 164 students = 19.51%)

For purposes of class rankings, no distinction is made between transfer students and students who began their careers at Touro, except that transfer students cannot displace a student who began his/her studies at Touro and is currently in the top 10% of the class. When this occurs, the non-transfer student who has the highest GPA below the 10% cutoff point is added (in a 1:1 ratio) to the top 10%.

When students submit a Request for Rank-in-Class, a copy of the completed form is forwarded to the Career Services Office. Please note the following:

A student who knowingly misrepresents his/her academic record is in violation of the Code of Conduct and will be brought before the Conduct Review Committee and/or a letter will be placed in his or her permanent file.

Final class rankings for all graduating students are calculated at the conclusion of the spring semester of their final year.

December graduates may report mid-year rankings, as unofficial rankings, as of their final fall semester. Final official class rankings for December graduates will be included with those calculated for all graduates at the conclusion of the following spring semester.

If a student changes divisions during her/his law school career, her/his class ranking at graduation shall be in the division in which she/he has earned more than 50% of her/his credits. If the number of credits earned in each division is equal, the student's class ranking at graduation shall be in the division in which she/he began her/his studies.
