Mastering NY Rules of Evidence 
Denise Merrifeld is currently an adjunct professor at Touro Law Center, teaching and lecturing on trial practice topics such as NY Evidence, Expert Testimony, and Cross Examination. She is the faculty coach of the Touro Law Center mock trial teams.
 
Merrifeld practiced as a Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney for 30 years in criminal law. She has extensive trial experience. She has personally tried 48 felony jury trials, including 29 homicide trials. Some of these trials were Murder 1st Degree cases. She has also tried dual jury Murder in the 1st Degree. During her tenure in the District Attorney's Office, she held the positions of Deputy Bureau Chief of the Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Bureau and Deputy Bureau Chief of the Major Crimes Bureau.
 
She has taught Continuing Legal Education courses (CLE) at the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office and I has taught jury selection at the New York State Prosecutor Training Institute (NYPTI).
