Jared Scotto Named Outstanding Student by CLEA

July 18, 2012

Touro Law Center is pleased to announce Jared Scotto has received the Outstanding Student Award for the 2011-2012 academic year by the Clinical Legal Education Association (CLEA). The award is presented to a student of each CLEA member school who excels at a clinical course and goes above and beyond in every aspect of the clinical experience. Jared participated in the Veterans’ and Servicemembers’ Rights Clinic, working closely with Professor John Gresham to serve veterans in complicated and sensitive legal matters.

“Jared truly was an outstanding student in the clinic, completely deserving of this honor,” said Professor Gresham. “I am really proud of him and all that he achieved.”

Jared has been recognized for his outstanding work and his exemplary attitude. He is known as an energetic, enthusiastic and bright law student among both professors and fellow classmates. He dedicated many hours to ensuring his clients’ needs were met in the clinic, handling complex legal matters professionally with excellent results and was also supportive of his fellow classmates throughout the semester.

Professor Gresham also noted, “Jared is going to be a terrific lawyer. He is already a very impressive advocate and human being.”

He was nominated for the award by his professor, recommended by a vote of the clinical faculty and awarded this honor by CLEA. CLEA is an organization of law school faculty dedicated to advancing clinical legal education. The organization advocates for clinical education as fundamental to the education of lawyers.
