Siben and Siben Fellowship Recipients Announced

2Ls Cristina Knorr and Paul Lipsky Named Recipients of Siben and Siben Fellowships

Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center is pleased to announce that Cristina Knorr and Paul Lipsky have been named Siben and Siben Fellows for the 2012-2013 academic year. This prestigious scholarship, which carries with it the distinction of being selected as a top scholar, is awarded to two full-time students who are ranked the highest academically at the beginning of their second-year.

Cristina Knorr attended SUNY Binghamton undergraduate with a major in Philosophy and Politics & Law. She plans to graduate from Touro Law Center in 2014 and will pursue a career as a prosecutor. She says, “Touro Law has afforded me great opportunities and has really helped me in pursing my goals. I am honored to receive this award and am very grateful to the Siben family for their generosity. I intend to remain fully dedicated to my studies and using my legal education to give back to my community and others.” Cristina resides in Westbury, NY.

Paul Lipsky graduated from State University of New York College at Potsdam with a Bachelor Degree in Music. He plans to practice law in New York upon his graduation from Touro Law in 2014. “I am grateful for the Siben family for their generosity. This scholarship will enable me to further take advantage of the many different opportunities that Touro Law has to offer,” said Paul. “I am dedicated to the study of law and appreciate this honor.” He lives in Bayport, NY.

The Siben and Siben Fellowship is named for Sidney and Walter Siben, the two founders of the very successful Siben & Siben Law Firm located in Bayshore, NY. The Sibens were active leaders in the Suffolk County legal community and were generous supporters and friends of Touro Law Center. Touro Law offers fellowships, scholarships and incentive awards to incoming students as well as returning students, based on academic achievements.
