Christopher Dor Awarded Rochester Legal Diversity Clerkship
February 26, 2013First year, full-time student Christopher Dor has been selected to receive the prestigious Monroe County Bar Association (MCBA) Rochester Legal Diversity Clerkship. Through this clerkship, he will spend the summer working at Underberg & Kessler.
Dean Salkin stated, “I am really proud of Christopher. He is a standout student and has done exceptionally well in his first year at Touro Law. I am confident that the attorneys at Underberg & Kessler will be as impressed with him as we are.”
Christopher Dor, from Syracuse, NY, has always wanted to work in a profession where he could help people. While working in the office of the Dean at the University at Buffalo, he learned firsthand the versatility of a law degree and decided to pursue a legal education.
“My first year at Touro Law has been amazing,” said Christopher Dor. “Everything I am learning is new and exciting. I am looking forward to working at Underberg & Kessler. They are a firm that has many different specialties and I’m excited to learn as much as I can while putting to use legal skills and knowledge I have honed thus far.”
The Rochester Legal Diversity Clerkship Program is co-sponsored by the MCBA (through its Diversity Committee), the Rochester Black Bar Association (RBBA), and the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys (GRAWA). This program seeks to increase diversity in the legal profession in the Rochester area by attracting qualified first-year law students from historically under-represented groups within the legal profession, including racial and ethnic minorities, to work in paid positions with Rochester area law firms and other legal employers.
