Deidre Byrne Hired as Student ProBono Coordinator for Hurricane Relief Efforts

March 28, 2013

Touro Law Center is proud to announce that Deidre Byrne, a 2008 Touro Law graduate, has been appointed as Student Coordinator of ProBono. In this role she will be responsible for coordinating law student service trips to provide legal assistance to individuals in need in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. She will reach out to law students across the country and match students with not-for-profit, government and legal service agencies. The position was created through a generous grant from the Rauch Foundation.

“I am excited to join Touro Law’s efforts to provide help to those in need after Hurricane Sandy and work with law students nationally,” said Ms. Byrne. “As we have seen from the response to Hurricane Katrina, law students have the ability to make a huge impact in a community and provide much needed help.”

Prior to accepting this position, Ms. Byrne was a solo practitioner representing clients in estate planning, real estate, matrimonial and child support matters.

Law student groups interested in service trips to Long Island to benefit individuals and families in need after Hurricane Sandy, should contact Deidre Byrne at (631) 650-2311 or email dbyrne@tourolaw.edu.
