Central Islip, NY – Touro Law Center is pleased to announce a new summer abroad law program in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, beginning in the summer of 2011. Touro Law will be the first and only United States law school to sponsor a summer abroad law program in Vietnam.

The program offers four courses to students: Asian Legal Traditions, International Criminal Law, Law and Literature, and International Business Transactions. Courses will be taught in the morning, leaving afternoons free for students to study and explore Vietnam. Optional excursions and tours will be made available to students as well.

The Vietnam program in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, will be held from Tuesday, May 24, 2011 to Sunday, June 26, 2011. It is divided into two sessions, the first beginning on May 24, and ending on Wednesday, June 8, and the second beginning on Monday, June 13, and ending on Saturday, June 25. Students may attend one or both sessions, earning up to six credits toward the J.D. degree. During the break between sessions there is an option tour to Cambodia. The program is open to any law student in good academic standing at his or her law school who has completed the first year of full-time or part-time study. Admission is also open to attorneys on a space-available basis to audit classes or for continuing legal education credit.
