Biography
JOSEPH SANTORELLI (Remedies) has been a Suffolk County District Judge since 1998. He currently sits in a misdemeanor criminal part, but has also presided over the Suffolk County Domestic Violence Court and served as an acting County Court judge. Before his election to the bench, he was a law assistant in the Appellate Division, Second Department and a confidential law secretary to two State Supreme Court justices. He earned a B.B.A. magna cum laude from St. John’s University College of Business Administration and his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. While in college, he worked as a rigger-welder, crane driver and power plant mechanic for the Long Island Lighting Company. He is a thirty-year member of the Freeport Fire Department, and in his spare time uses his judicial talents as an NCAA Men’s Lacrosse referee.
