Introduction to NYS Court Practice: Justice Courts
Leonard Badia is the Commanding Officer of the Cohalan West and Security Operations Commands of the New York State Court System's Tenth Judicial District. He is also an Assistant Professor in the Criminal Justice and Paralegal, Business and Accounting Departments of Suffolk County Community College, and an Adjunct Professor at Nassau County Community College and St. Joseph's College. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Suffolk County Bar Association; Managing Director of the Executive Board of the Suffolk County Bar Association’s Charity Foundation; and a member of the District Administrative Judge’s Committee on Efficiencies in the Court.  He holds five Police Instructor certifications, including firearms, is a certified mediator for custody/visitation and parent/child disputes, and has written articles for various publications, including Dialogue Magazine and The Suffolk Lawyer.  He holds undergraduate degrees in Economics, Management and Business Administration from the State University of New York and St. John’s University, and received his  J.D., cum laude, from Touro Law Center.
