Institute on Land Use and Sustainable Development Law
The Institute of Land Use and Public Policy is dedicated to fostering a greater understanding of local land use law, environmental law and public policy relevant to the future sustainability of Long Island. Currently, there is a void in both the public and private sectors for up-to-date information on important changes in land use legislation, determinations, policies and court decisions that greatly affect the real estate development industry and on our quality of life. The Institute's mission is to be a comprehensive clearinghouse for relevant information, as well as emerging trends in the field of land use law and public policy affecting Long Island. Moreover, the Institute is designed to be an educational resource and a professional outlet for students of the Touro Law Center, by offering them a unique opportunity to research issues relevant to the field of land use law and public policy and to contribute articles, commentaries and notes for inclusion in the Institute's e-newsletter.
