The topics in the Current Issues Seminar will be drawn from any area related to aging and longevity law, such as age discrimination, health care regulation, retirement and continuing care communities, biomedical ethics, legal consequences of incapacity, ethical issues for lawyers, and other emerging issues in the law. In the seminar students will study legal matters that are new or in flux, providing a forum for investigating pressing issues that affect legal rights of the aging population. An interdisciplinary approach will bring insights from other fields, such as medicine, psychology, economics and sociology to the study of developments in law and public policy relating to aging. This seminar is required for students concentrating in Aging and Longevity Law. (Prerequisite: Elder Law.)
