In Their Own Words…

Kermit the Frog once said “Life's like a movie, write your own ending, keep believing...” While we all age and attain degrees of high prestige, such as a law degree, I always remind myself of the infinite wisdom of some of my favorite childhood characters. Our individual destinies are what we make of the world around us. Touro Law School has provided me with every opportunity, every tool and every bit of knowledge possible to help me craft the ending to my movie. No global pandemic or any other barrier is in my way that I cannot conquer. There is no scene, in my movie, I cannot write. And I owe much thanks to the faculty and staff at Touro for enabling me to do so.
- Frank Armano, Class Orator

It’s all too surreal. Five years ago, I received my acceptance letter to attend Touro Law Center for the fall of 2015. I had to make a tough decision in 2015, keep working for the NYS Senate and defer or go to law school. I ended up deferring for two years and decided to continue to work at the Senate before attending Touro in the fall of 2017. Well, I couldn’t have been happier with the decision I made. The past three years have been filled with lots of tears, laughs, and many achievements. A very big thank you to my family, friends and faculty at Touro. I would not have survived these past three years without your endless support through the hard times and the good times. I can’t believe that on Sunday, May 24, 2020, we will graduate, celebrate our accomplishments and officially earn our J.D. Congrats to the class of 2020!!

We are the Class of 2020, the law students who graduated during the Global Pandemic. That makes us unique and unforgettable. Our administrators, professors, staff, and classmates have all managed to adapt as best as possible under the circumstances. I am confident that it will prove that we are adaptable to whatever the future has in store.

The doors to our school closed before we could say goodbye to each other. None of us expected it
to end like this, but we pulled through and made it to the finish. In all of this, the one thing we can
say with certainty is that the class of 2020 is like no other before it. Attending Touro Law was one
of the best decisions of my life and I am so proud to be graduating with my classmates. I wish
us all a future filled with success.

The law school experience was so unique and so fulfilling. The things we learned and experiences we will take from here cannot be quantified. Touro has helped us be prepared not only for the Bar Exam, but for the life ahead as we look to become advocates for the people that need our help. I think that as the 'Corona Class' we will actually enter the field of law uniquely equipped to handle the situations and reality that face our country as this virus and its repercussions settle in to become the new normal.
