Patrick McGlashan

Class of 2006
McGlashan Law Firm, P.C.

Touro Law Center’s Office of Development, Alumni Relations and Communications is proud to announce that Patrick McGlashan has been selected as the December Alum of the Month.  Mr. McGlashan is the managing partner of the McGlashan Law Firm, P.C. and was an active member of the Touro Community while attending law school and has attended various alumni and student events throughout the years.  On behalf of the entire law school community, we extend our congratulations to Patrick McGlashan.

Patrick is the founder and managing partner of the McGlashan Law Firm. He started his legal career at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in 2006, where he practiced general corporate law as an associate until 2011. In the eight years before he joined Sullivan & Cromwell, Patrick owned and operated a financial planning practice at American Express Financial Advisors (currently, Ameriprise Financial). He worked as a Series 7 licensed stockbroker for four years before he joined American Express Financial Advisors.

The attorneys at the McGlashan Law Firm provide legal advice in corporate matters, trust and estate planning and administration, taxation, employment matters and litigation, commercial real estate transactions and commercial litigation.

Patrick received his J.D. summa cum laude from Touro Law Center in 2006 and his B.S. from the State University of New York at Oneonta. While at Touro Law, he was active in the Black Law Students Association and The Journal of Race, Gender and Ethnicity. Patrick was a Dean’s fellow in all semesters, and he received the CALI award for excellent academic achievement in Criminal Procedure in the spring of 2004; Introduction to Federal Tax in the fall of 2004; Remedies in the fall of 2005; and was a Faculty Fellow from 2003 to 2006.

He also served 6 years in the New York Army National Guard, enlisting as a private during freshman year of college and retiring as a second lieutenant 2 years after he completed his degree in Business, Economics and Finance.

A member of the New York State and New York City Bar Associations, Patrick has spoken to a number of current Touro Law students to help guide them through their careers and answer their questions. He has also returned to the law school to attend several student-alumni networking receptions.

Jamaican born, Patrick is married, a father of two and resides in Queens, New York.
