Description
Northeast People of Color Legal Scholarship Conference 2016
"Confronting the Violence of Our Times"
hosted by Touro Law Center and Ron Brown Center of SJU Law

As members of the legal academy, what should our response be to this violence that permeates national and international communities and societies? What scholarship and concrete action can we pursue that will address the root causes of racial, ethnic and sexual violence? What collaborations and coalitions are necessary or possible? In our role as teachers, how do we address the violent, racist, nativist and anti-immigrant sentiments that have surfaced in public discourse and on our campuses? Can and should these issues be raised in “core” courses?
Below are the logistical details, panel descriptions, a call for panel presentations and WIPs, a call for award nominations and important deadlines. Conference registration link will be distributed shortly.

If you have any questions, please contact Deborah Post at deborahp@tourolaw.edu or Elaine Chiu at chiue1@stjohns.edu.
