Security Information for Commencement 2024

Dear Graduates,

On behalf of Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, I would like to congratulate you on your upcoming graduation. We are immensely proud of your accomplishments and look forward to celebrating with you and your guests.

To ensure that graduation is a safe and comfortable event for all attendees, we are taking this opportunity to share these reminders and rules. Only ticket holders will be allowed into the venue. Additional security will be present.

Please be sure to share the information below with your guests.

• For safety sake, no backpacks or large bags will be permitted into the venue. All bags are subject to inspection.

• No posters or signs of any type will be allowed into the venue.

• We also respectfully ask that no balloons or similar items be brought in (save them for home!)

• In compliance with Touro’s Commencement Policy, students are only permitted to wear the official Touro University academic regalia provided to them. Students may also wear earned honor cords and honor stoles, or cords issued by the University for Veterans of the U.S. Military (see our Commencement Policy) Students are not permitted to add any decorations or embellishments to their caps. If you have any question about what is appropriate, please ask Dean DePierro, Assistant Dean for Student Services and Records in advance of the event (or, when in doubt, leave it out).

• We plan to begin our program on time and ask that your guests please take their seats immediately when doors open.

We know that we can count on everyone to display the decorum and respect necessary to make this event a great experience for all our graduates and their guests!
