Biography
Merik A. Aaron is a judge of the Nassau County Family Court. He served as Acting Supreme Court Justice in the County Court, Nassau County.  Prior to his election to the bench, he served as Principal Deputy Town Attorney for the Town of Hempstead and had a private practice in Criminal Law, Family Law, Education Law, Municipal Law and Real Estate. He served as Village Attorney for the Incorporated Village of Hewlett Harbor. He is a Past President of the Nassau Lawyers' Association of Long Island  and received the William J. Gitelman Award for outstanding service to the Legal Profession. He has been an adjunct professor at Nassau Community College for more than three decades. He served on the Grievance Committee and was chairman of the Fee Conciliation Committee for the Bar Association of Nassau County. Prior to attending law school, he enjoyed a career as a science teacher, secondary school administrator and central office director of curriculum. He received B.A. and M.A. degrees from Long Island University,Certificate of Advanced Studies and Professional Diploma from Hofstra University, Doctorate in Educational Administration from Nova Southeastern University, and his J.D. from Touro Law Center. He is admitted to practice in five jurisdictions: NY, NJ, CT, DC and MN.
