Check out our new exhibit “Ex Libris John Jay” located on the third floor - outside the Rare Books room.  Beth Mobley, Associate Director and Curator of Special Collections, has assembled this selection of books, formerly owned by John Jay, the 1st Justice of the United States Supreme Court, from the Gould Law Library New York Law Institute Collection.

The three Gould Law Library indentures, added to the library's Special Collections in 2010, are the gift of Cliff Richner, co-publisher, Richner Communications Inc. and a member of the Board of Governors. All are written on parchment and measure approximately 22 X 28 inches. Stop by the third floor of the library to see them in person!

Professor Meredith Miller has donated three famous contract case silk screen original art pieces to the Gould Law Library. Read more.

Good news!  The library has received such positive feedback about the digital book scanner during our trial period that we’ve decided to make it a more permanent addition!  The scanner is located in the 3rd floor printer room.  Books and other documents can be scanned into PDF, Word docs, HTML or JPEG files and saved on a flash drive or emailed. We hope you'll come check it out!

Welcome to the Gould Law Library

The Gould Law Library is named for the Gould family, who has a long history of involvement and support for Touro Law Center. An expansive 40,000 square feet covering four floors, the library is designed to meet the scholarly and educational needs of the law school’s faculty and students.

With more than 462,000 volumes and microform volume equivalents with 101,000 titles, the library collection covers a vast array of domestic, foreign, and international legal topics and also is home to a substantial collection of materials that aid in the study of Jewish law. The library subscribes to a broad spectrum of online research databases on legal and general reference topics.

It is also equipped with study rooms, carrels, and tables wired for laptop use, as well as abundant soft seating to comfortably accommodate approximately 400 users. Our Library is staffed by experienced professionals, including five reference librarians and two reference assistants – many with a law degree or a master’s degree in library science – who are ready to help you on your way to a successful legal career.
