Biography
STEVEN HOVANI (Appellate Advocacy) has more than 30 years experience as a private appellate practitioner, law clerk to a New York State Supreme Court Justice, and as a prosecutor. For the last 17 years he has been Chief of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Appeals Bureau. He has lectured on criminal law subjects for the Suffolk Academy of Law, the Suffolk County Criminal Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the New York State District Court Judges Association, the National District Attorneys Association, and the New York Prosecutors Training Institute. He also serves as the editor of the New York Criminal Case Citator. He received his B.A. (Psychology) from Boston University, and his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.
