This seminar provides a study of the techniques available for the transfer of property by gift or devise and the attendant estate, gift, and income tax consequences. Topics studied include the marital deduction; apportionment of the tax burden; estate valuation; planning for the closely held business; use of inter vivos trusts, life insurance, and deferred compensation plans; approaches to client counseling; and planning and drafting of wills and trusts. (Prerequisites: Property I & II, Trusts & Estates, Federal Income Tax, and Estate and Gift Tax.)
