Touro Law Center's Office of Development, Alumni Relations and Communications is proud to announce that Dana Mark ’85 has been selected as the alum of the month for April 2013. Ms. Mark was a Law Review editor while attending law school and she remains an active member of the Touro Law Center Community through the Alumni Leadership Giving Council and participation on special event committees. Her accomplished career highlighted in the bio below. On behalf of the entire law school community, we extend our congratulations to Dana Mark.
Dana Mark is special counsel with the firm of McCarter English in the firm’s New York City Office. Ms. Mark concentrates her practice on tax, estate and trust planning and charitable giving and she has extensive experience involving sophisticated tax planning, the probate and administration of estates and trusts, retirement planning and pre- and post-nuptial agreements.
Ms. Mark is a Fellow of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel where she is an active member of the Fiduciary Income Tax Committee. She is a member of the American Law Institute where she is on the Members Consultative Group of the Principles of the Law of Nonprofit Organizations, Restatement Third, Property (Wills and Other Donative Transfers) and Restatement Third, Trusts. She is also a member of the American Bar Association and its Section of Taxation and Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, the New York State Bar Association and its Section of Taxation and the Trusts and Estates Law Section, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Ms. Mark is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and a Member of the Board, Vice-President and Treasurer of Animal Zone International.
Ms. Mark has been recognized in US News & World Report and Best Lawyers in New York Trust and Estates and has been named by Super Lawyers as one of the top 50 women lawyers in New York. She is also listed in the 2013 issue of The Best Lawyers in America.
She has lectured and written extensively on tax and trust and estate planning. She received her LL.M from New York University School of Law, her J.D. magna cum laude from Touro Law Center where she was an editor on the Touro Law Review and her B.A. from New York University. She remains an active member of the Touro Law Center Community through special event committees and attending programs and events.
